People who help us-April 2016

People who help us

In April, we talked all about the people who help us in our community. We learned all about the guard, fire fighter, nurse, doctor, teacher and paramedic. We can now identify these people by their uniform and are aware of their different duties. Have a look at some of our lovely drawings from this month.

We were so lucky to have a Bean Garda from Clondalkin Garda Station visit us in our classroom. Her name was Maeve-she was so nice to us! She let us hold her badge, wear her hat and try her jacket on (it was very heavy) She also had handcuffs attached to her belt.

Check out the lovely pictures we drew of Garda Maeve.

March madness

March was a super busy month for us in Room 1! Have a look at what we got up to-we hope you enjoy!!!

Happy Mother's Day

We visited Newlands Garden Centre where we made special baskets for our mammies for Mother's Day. This was so much fun.

Check out our ‘I love you to the moon and back’ Mother’s Day cards.

Céilí Mór

During 'Seachtain na Gaeilge' we participated in a 'Céilí' in the school hall. We were so lucky to perform our dance in front of the whole school. Have a look at us in action!

To celebrate St. Patrick, we went 'green'-we wore green hats, t-shirts, ties, headbands, glasses and so on.

How cool do we look?

Our world in letters

Have a look at some of the letters we can now write.

Cool cars go down curvy 'c', stop on your way up-that's the key.

Around the apple, down the worm-be  careful it won't squirm.

First you need as euro to spend, right up to the top and down to the end

A garden starts with a little seed, the roots grow down-that's all you need

For 'r' you go down to the ground, back up and around.

First start high, then take a jump-little 'h' has a little hump.

Down to the ground-back up and round

Go down, hit the ground-you're almost done.
Little 'm' has two humps, 'n' only has one.

Go down, hit the ground, then get ready for bumps.
Little 'm' is easy to write, just add two humps.

Draw a straight back, just like me.
Don't forget to add a belly for 'b'.

Pop on down, back up you see.
Finish it off with a little pea.

Little 'i' goes down and around, it's an ice-cream treat.
Add a sprinkle on top and it's ready to eat.

Go down, down and around.

Just like 'l' with a line across the middle.

A little line to start off 'e'.
Add a plate for the egg, here's breakfast for me.

February fun

February fun!!!!!!!

Our theme this month was transport and travel! We were so busy learning about all the different modes of transport-our  favourite is the hot air balloon! Take a look at  what we  got up to this month-we are so proud of our work!

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day!!!

We celebrated 'Grandparents Day' on Feb 3rd 2016! We couldn't wait to invite our Grandparents into our class to see all the activity that goes on behind the door. They were as excited as we were to join in and have fun! Take a look at our photos of this very special day!
